Sonnet

THE SUN SHINES BRIGHT ON MY PALE FACE
THE WIND BLOWS SOFTLY AGAINST MY FAIR SKIN
THE DAY FEELS AS DELICATE AS FINE LACE
LYING IN THIS MEADOW FEELS LIKE A WIN
BIRDS FLYING OVERHEAD ATTRACT MY MIND
THE COLORS IN THE SKY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL
BEING HERE IN THIS PLACE IS SO VERY KIND
THE BLOSSOMING FLOWERS ARE SO BLISSFUL
TALL GRASS TICKLES THE BACK OF MY BARE LEGS
IS IT WRONG TO WANT TO STAY FOR A WHILE?
CAN I STAY HERE? PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME BEG
I’M JUST GONNA NAP IN THIS BIG OLE HAY PILE
MY EYES GET FUZZY AS THEY WAKE TO SEE
OH MY THIS CAN’T HAPPEN, THIS MUST NOT BE!

Jabberwocky

"Jabberwocky" was my favorite poem that we read in class. It was interesting to read, it was kind of like reading a new language with some of the words that were used. I loved how excited Ms. Watson got while and after she read the poem that's what made this poem stick out in my mind. It's an enjoyable poem that's just fun to read. Me being a person that dislikes poem actually liked this one.

Poetry to me

When I think of poetry I think of a short story that rhymes. The whole rhyme scheme is the entertaining part and the only reason I read poetry. I don't really like reading poetry especially the love kind that's super hard to read or understand really. After the poetry I've had to write lately I hate writing it now. Writing poetry is difficult so I think I'll just stick to reading it.
